 CSW #4: "Lean."

The word "lean" connotes an angle from vertical. Things that lean are out of balance and, due to the pull of gravity, must be propped to keep from falling. In skiing, does the word "lean" connote we are out of balance when we are tipped? There are more forces acting on us in skiing than just gravity, so when we position ourselves to balance amongst those forces, we will likely be tipped away from vertical, propped only by those forces, and we will be in balance. Semantically, the word "lean" may thus be misleading in skiing. "Tip" is a better word. It is picky to insist on this distinction, but if it helps our skiing, we should be picky.
